History Of Oz Powerball:

The great success of the national Australian game, Oz Lotto, led to the Australian Powerball launch in 1996 with the very first draw taking place on the 23rd May 1996. This lottery was originally modeled on the American Powerball lottery and followed a very similar format. In March 2013 the game format was updated to make it more attractive to players. It was then updated again in April 2018 with an additional number being added along with a 9th prize tier. The game became easily recognizable by its catchy tagline: "One ball could change it all!"

The game uses 2 separate ball barrels and players must choose 2 separate sets of numbers – standard numbers and the Powerball.
