The saying, “What goes UP, must come down,” has never been more apt, when looking at the biggest lotto jackpots around the world and seeing them being taken down one by one over the weekend.
What was set to be a bumper weekend with massive lotto jackpots like the $478 million Powerball, the 84 million Euro EuroJackpot, and the 72 million Euro EuroMillions lotto jackpots, turning out extremely lucky for some, as not one but all three of these gigantic jackpots were won.
First up we have the EuroJackpot. Taking place on Friday night, with a staggering €84.7 million as the top jackpot prize, this been rolling for a while already, but it was one very lucky player from Germany this time, that took home the lotto trophy as the highest EuroJackpot amount won in Germany. It is the second largest in the EuroJackpot history and the biggest win in German lottery history.
The winning EuroJackpot numbers this weekend were: 4, 8, 22, 36 and 44 plus Euro Numbers 5 and 10.
One player managed to match all these lucky EuroJackpot numbers and take home the entire jackpot!
The lucky winner bought their ticket in the western German state of Hesse, said lottery officials on Saturday. Even though the winner’s identity still remains unknown, what we do know is the winning ticket was purchased in the State of Hesse.
The next game to be drawn this weekend was the EuroMillions lottery, with a jackpot of £61.1.
The winning EuroMillions numbers for Friday, 29 July, 2016 were: 1, 21, 26, 40 and 50 ad Lucky Star numbers 2 and 4.
One lucky EuroMillions lotto player matched all of the winning numbers to take home the top prize. That winner was based in the UK, and has already come forward to claim the huge lotto prize.
Lottery officials said, “We’re delighted the ticket-holder has come forward to claim their prize and their ranking of 10th place in the National Lottery rich list.”
It’s all in the heading… “1 ticket hits $487M Powerball jackpot!”
For nearly three months, Powerball lottery fans religiously played this American giant, in the hope that they would hit a massive jackpot. It all came to a sudden halt on Saturday night, when one ticket holder managed to match all the winning numbers and not even share the jackpot prize.
The lucky Powerball ticket was sold at Hannaford Supermarket in Raymond, N.H. It matched all five numbers and the Power ball to bag the $487 million jackpot.
The prize is the fifth-largest Powerball prize and the eighth biggest in U.S. lottery history.
The winning Powerball numbers for Saturday, 30 July, 2016 are: 11, 17, 21, 23, 32 with a Powerball of 5.
Just hours before the draw took place, the jackpot jumped by another $9 million due to increased ticket sales for the draw.
If the winner chooses the cash option, he or she will win $336.8 million before taxes are deducted.
Fifteen Powerball lottery ticket holders also saw their five main numbers make an appearance to scoop a second tier win of $ 1,000,000.00.
The next Powerball jackpot which takes place this Wednesday (3 August, 2016) will be worth $40 million.
Another extremely popular lottery draw that took place on Friday night was the Mega Millions draw. Up for grabs was a cool $20 million for any lottery player who would match numbers 11, 16, 19, 31 and 48 plus the Mega Ball of 4.
Unlike the Powerball lotto game though, no one matched all the winning lotto numbers drawn for this particular game. One ticket holder however, based in New Jersey, was lucky enough to match the first five numbers to win $1 million.
The Mega Millions jackpot will be $25 million this coming Wednesday.
Getting back to Saturday, we saw the UK Lotto, with a jackpot worth £5.7 million. No one managed to match all the winning UK Lottery numbers though, so online lotto players have even more to play for in the midweek rollover. The winning UK Lottery numbers for Saturday, 30 July, 2016 are: 14, 26, 28, 41, 51 and 57. This Wednesday’s jackpot will now be worth a cool £7.3 million.
There’s no stopping the SuperEnaLotto, which has been rolling for more than a year. Saturday night’s draw yet again produced no jackpot winner. The rollover continues with no one matching all the winning SuperEnaLotto numbers: 15, 22, 26, 45, 48 and 82. Had a lucky player played those little numbers they would have put an end to the crazy rollovers and taken home €115 million jackpot prize. If you have a feeling that this jackpot has been waiting for you, then play the SuperEnaLotto now – and you could be €116.7 million richer on Tuesday.
